If you were to run only one at-home lab test to assess the overall state of your digestion, microbial probiotic balance, and gut health, it would be this Candida, Metabolic & Vitamins Test. Measuring your levels of intestinal yeast and bacteria can uncover the deepest root causes of why you're not feeling well, including gut issues. High or unbalanced levels of microorganisms lead to widespread symptoms related to immune function: fatigue, inflammation/joint pain, skin rashes, mood imbalances and more, plus they can impact existing disorders related to behavior and neurological function. With over 75 biomarkers, the Candida, Metabolic & Vitamins Test will show you exactly what your deficiencies are in terms of vitamins, energy mitochondrial producers, neurotransmitter metabolites, and detoxifiers. Kidney disease and kidney stones are common in people with high levels of oxalates in their bodies, making it an important marker to test. Those also affected are individuals with fibromyalgia and women with vulvar pain. This is the "go-to" lab when you want to find out how well your body is doing from the inside out!
Making gut health a priority will contribute to a multitude of health benefits that include a robust immune system, balanced mood and energy levels, efficient detoxification and optimal digestion. By taking a look at the overall state of your digestive system and microbial probiotic balance you can learn what your deficiencies are in terms of vitamins, energy and mood metabolites and natural detoxifiers. This test provides an opportunity to examine the underlying root causes of digestive issues and metabolic imbalances. Armed with your individual results you'll be equipped to rebalance your body with a diet, supplement and lifestyle recommendations right for you with the support of a certified Health Coach.

The health of the microbiome impacts digestion, absorption of nutrients, immune system, detoxification and brain function.
Mitochondrial Markers:Amino Acid & Krebs Cycle Metabolites
The power house of each cell in the body that help to generate energy (ATP), stress to this cycle from the toxins from candida, bacteria, oxalate, heavy metals and environmental chemicals can lead to low energy, poor exercise recovery and increased oxidative stress.
Neurotransmitter Metabolites:Phenylalanine, Tyrosine & Tryptophan
Chemical messengers in the brain that impact mood and sleep. Identify issues in tryptophan metabolism which can contribute to serotonin imbalance and excess quinolinic acid production. The relationship between two important brain chemicals dopamine and norepinephrine is critical for attention, focusing, mood, calmness, and other nervous system functions. Deficiency or excess of serotonin can impact mood, fine and gross motor skills, calmness, and sleep.
Pyrimidine Metabolites (Folate Metabolism)
Markers uracil and thymine help indicate of folate imbalance. Folate is linked to the methylation cycle that supports the inner workings of cells related to DNA function and metabolism. Poor folate metabolism can lead to cognitive problems.
Ketone and Fatty Acid Oxidation
Ketones are breakdown products of fatty acid metabolism. When fat is used as an energy source it is converted into ketones in the liver by a process called ketogenesis. Elevations in ketones can lead to GI upset like vomiting and diarrhea.
Identify nutrient imbalances
In order for the body to run effectively, it needs the right level of vitamins and minerals to act as cofactors for enzymatic reactions. Without enough of these nutritional cofactors (or if someone has genetic mutations that affect how well their enzymes work), these chemical pathways are unable to function optimally.
Identify glutathione deficiency
Glutathione is a powerful antioxidant in our cells and protects against toxicity. Inadequate glutathione increases oxidative stress in the brain and nervous system, that can lead to poor attention, focus and overall cognitive challenges. Glutathione deficiency can also compromise immune system health. Glutathione is an essential compound involved liver detoxification of chemicals.
Amino acids have major metabolic functions and roles in the body
Certain elevated amino acid metabolites can even be linked to rare genetic diseases called inborn errors of metabolism.
Assess elevated levels of phosphoric acid
Measures phosphoric acid linked to dietary consumption metabolism and/or vitamin D status. High phosphorus levels can cause damage to your body.
High oxalates in the GI tract also may significantly reduce absorption of essential minerals such as calcium, magnesium, zinc, and others. Oxalate can trap heavy metals such as mercury, lead, and arsenic in the body and lead to mineral imbalances.
This test was helpful in finding imbalances that may be contributing to mild gut issues, and it provided the next step toward fixing them. The instructions were easy to follow, and the coach I met with was very thorough.
I can't honestly review a test that I haven't gotten results from yet. I hope to get the results soon, I have a lot of changes to make but I can't start till I know where my levels are at.
This is such a great product that really tells you what is going on in your body!
This is the best test to see what is happening in your gut!! You learn so much about your internal markers that you do NOT get from a blood test. You can see how and why your body is responding to the foods you eat. You even learn about neurotransmitter production. I have done this test 2 times and learned how doing the CBO protocol really DOES balance the levels of bacteria in your body. I would recommend doing the test once, especially if you want to learn about any gut issues; bloating, fatigue, constipation, gas, etc.
I have not received the results of this test yet, but I will comment on the process of collecting the specimen. I was impressed with the speed that I received the lab kit and it was fairly easy to collect the specimen. I will say that I had to search for additional instructions about the specimen and how to store it/when it needed to be sent back because that was not clear on the instructions I received in my kit. The specimen needs to be frozen for at least 4 hours and ideally dropped off to be shipped back to the lab at the carrier office at the end of business day. I also struggled a bit with getting the specimen and ice pack to fit back in the box when I went to ship it since the ice pack was solid and not malleable. Will update once I receive my results.
Once you receive your at-home lab test, please follow the instructions provided to register your test. Once sample(s) are sent to one of our CLIA certified labs, it will take approximately 3 weeks for your results to be returned, during which time you will receive information on how to schedule your one-one-one health coaching call.
All at-home lab tests expire 6-months from their purchase date. To ensure you will receive your results, please be sure to send all samples for completed lab tests prior to the 6-month expiration date. Unfortunately, there can be no returns or replacement lab tests sent after the 6-month time frame.
Please remember to register your labs prior to sending your sample to the laboratory.
