Thyroid TSH Test

Uncover Hidden Causes of Weight Gain, Low Mood & Hair Loss
Includes Lab Results Explanation Video From Dr. Cabral

The thyroid is a small butterfly-shaped gland located near the throat. Although the organ itself is small, it has a significant impact on overall health. The thyroid produces countless hormones that affect nearly every tissue in the body. When functioning properly, it helps regulate everything from metabolism to sexual function. The Thyroid TSH Test looks at thyrotropin (thyroid stimulating hormone), a hormone that stimulates the thyroid into producing more of the important hormones needed to live a healthy life. If your levels of TSH are elevated or subdued, it may indicate that your thyroid is not functioning optimally.

You will receive a video from Dr. Cabral that will provide you with a detailed explanation of how to understand your individual results.

Understanding the Thyroid

What is Measured

TSH

TSH or Thyroid-Stimulating Hormone is a pituitary hormone that stimulates the thyroid gland to produce thyroxine, and then triiodothyronine which stimulates the metabolism of almost every tissue in the body.

TSH or Thyroid-stimulating hormone is made in a gland in the brain called the pituitary. When thyroid levels in your body are low, the pituitary gland makes more TSH. When thyroid levels are high, the pituitary gland makes less TSH. TSH levels that are too high or too low can indicate your thyroid isn't working correctly.

The Thyroid TSH test uses the relationship between TSH and the thyroid to assess overall thyroid health. The results can help you find ways to boost thyroid function to support metabolism, energy levels, and body temperature.
