The Prostate Health Test is a quick and easy way for men to quickly check in on their prostate health. This innovative test requires only a small blood sample to evaluate levels of PSA (Prostate-Specific Antigen), a compound produced in the prostate tissue. Oftentimes increased PSA levels can indicate prostatitis and enlargement of the prostate. PSA levels vary from person to person, making regularly testing a great way of checking in on your health and tracking progress. Although there can be many causes of elevated PSA levels, getting this test is the first step to uncover the underlying causes.

What is Measured

PSA

Prostate Specific Antigen (PSA) is also known as gamma-seminoprotein or kallikrein-3. This protein is produced by regular prostate cells as well as malignant prostate cells and may indicate prostate health.

Protein Specific Antigen or PSA is a protein produced by both cancerous and noncancerous tissue in the prostate. A variety of conditions can raise PSA levels including the presence of malignant cells, inflammation of the prostate, and hormonal imbalances.

Although elevated levels of PSA can indicate inflammation of the prostate and the presence of malignant cells it is important to remember that the normal PSA range varies from person to person. The best method of checking in on your prostate health is to work closely with a doctor and to rest your PSA levels regularly.
