- T3: Triiodothyronine (T3) is an important hormone for digestive function, metabolism, and bone health.
- Through a process called deiodination, your body will convert thyroxine (T4) into triiodothyronine (T3).
- While the balance of each hormone is key to understanding the bigger picture, too much T3 may be an indicator of an overactive thyroid gland.
- T4: Thyroxine (T4) is one of the 2 main hormones produced and released by the thyroid gland.
- Because T4 is needed for the conversion of T3, the balance of each of these hormones is of vital importance.
- T4 is responsible for your metabolism, mood, body temperature, and much more.
- TSH: Thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH) plays a key role by telling your thyroid gland to release hormones T3 and T4.
- Your hypothalamus, located in your brain, first releases something called thyrotropin-releasing hormone, which in turn triggers the pituitary gland to produce TSH.
- Without TSH, T3 and T4 would not be released, causing the intricate system of hormones to fail.
- TPOab: Thyroid peroxidase antibody (TPO) is an enzyme made in the thyroid gland that is important for production of thyroid hormones.

What To Expect
- How will I receive my results and my coaching call to review those results? Once you receive your at-home lab test, please follow the instructions provided to register your test. Once your sample(s) are sent to one of our CLIA-certified labs, it will take approximately 3 weeks for your results to be returned, during which time you will receive information on how to schedule your one-on-one health coaching call.
- Do at-home lab tests expire? All at-home lab tests expire 6 months from their purchase date. To ensure you will receive your results, please be sure to send all samples for completed lab tests prior to the 6-month expiration date. Unfortunately, there can be no returns or replacement lab tests sent after the 6-month time frame. Please remember to register your labs prior to sending your sample to the laboratory.

What does the Thyroid Panel Test measure?
It measures four thyroid markers from a dried blood spot: triiodothyronine (T3), thyroxine (T4), thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH), and thyroid peroxidase antibodies (TPOab).
How do I collect my sample?
With a simple finger prick at home. Place a few drops of blood on the collection card, follow the included instructions, and return the card to our CLIA-certified laboratory in the packaging provided.
How long do results take?
Approximately three weeks after the laboratory receives your sample. Your results are delivered through EquiLife's health portal with an invitation to schedule your 30-minute one-on-one health coaching call.
Is this a diagnostic test?
No. EquiLife labs are functional wellness tests processed at CLIA-certified laboratories. They give you and your health coach information about your current status and are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease. Please share your results with your healthcare provider for any medical questions.
Can I use my HSA or FSA?
