This at-home lab will measure the ratio of Omega-3 and Omega-6 fats in order to analyze if there may be concerning levels of inflammation, which can negatively impact numerous systems in the body.

- Omega-6s also serve an important purpose and are more widely available in the diet, so there's a potential for imbalance between inflammatory and anti-inflammatory fats.
- Optimal levels of omega-3s result in decreased inflammation, which works to support cardiovascular health, cognitive function, mood, and immune function, and provide nutrients for healthy skin, hair, and nails.
- AA (arachidonic acid) from processed foods, fried foods, and fatty cuts of animal protein can throw off our AA/EPA ratio, leading to more inflammation in the body.
- The ideal ratio is estimated at ⅔:1 Omega-6 to Omega-3.
- For optimal health, the AA/EPA ratio is 5:1 or better.

What To Expect
- How will I receive my results and my coaching call to review those results? Once you receive your at-home lab test, please follow the instructions provided to register your test. Once your sample(s) are sent to one of our CLIA-certified labs, it will take approximately 3 weeks for your results to be returned, during which time you will receive information on how to schedule your one-on-one health coaching call.
- Do at-home lab tests expire? All at-home lab tests expire 6 months from their purchase date. To ensure you will receive your results, please be sure to send all samples for completed lab tests prior to the 6-month expiration date. Unfortunately, there can be no returns or replacement lab tests sent after the 6-month time frame. Please remember to register your labs prior to sending your sample to the laboratory.

What does the Omega-3 & Inflammation Test measure?
It measures 14 fatty acid markers from a dried blood spot, including your Omega-3 Index, your Omega-6 to Omega-3 ratio and your AA to EPA ratio, plus the individual omega-3 fats (ALA, EPA, DPA, DHA) and omega-6 fats (LA, DGLA, AA).
How do I collect my sample?
With a simple finger prick at home. Place a few drops of blood on the collection card, follow the included instructions, and return the card to our CLIA-certified laboratory in the packaging provided.
How long do results take?
Approximately three weeks after the laboratory receives your sample. Your results are delivered through EquiLife's health portal with an invitation to schedule your 30-minute one-on-one health coaching call.
Is this a diagnostic test?
No. EquiLife labs are functional wellness tests processed at CLIA-certified laboratories. They give you and your health coach information about your current status and are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease. Please share your results with your healthcare provider for any medical questions.
Can I use my HSA or FSA?
